Heath Robertson is a multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter who performs with a maturity well beyond his young years, and at a level to rival any seasoned performer.

With catchy guitar licks and solid beats inspired by a bygone era, his music fuses the blues with 70’s influenced surf-rock.

The QMF recently announced him the inaugural recipient of the Alison McKenzie Scholarship, further cementing what is bound be a promising career in the music industry. This followed on from winning the FReeZA Foot-In-The-Door competition in the Blues and Roots category at the 2016 Queenscliff Music Festival where he wowed the judges with his performance. In 2017, and at the tender age of 16, he released his debut EP Always Late And Never On Time, was support for Didirri, and also offered a spot at the 2017 QMF.

One year on, one year older, one more year of performances under his belt and further refining his craft...just come and see what Heath Robertson can do. With artists like this, the future of music is in good hands.

CARUS THOMPSON

Piping Hot Chicken Shop favourite returns for his annual appearance on Saturday 15th December. It’s the last show of the year and is sure to see 2018 finish with a vibe-filled folk-rocking bang! Every time Carus plays the Chicken shop is sells out and this show is sure to do the same. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Globe trotting troubadour Carus Thompson has toured the world alongside The John Butler Trio, The Waifs, Xavier Rudd, Jack Johnson & Pete Murray, selling over 30,000 albums along the way.

He’s won his loyal fan base through 20 years of hitting the road, always delivering passionate, energetic, folk-rocking shows that entertain and engage.

And with his latest album ISLAND, he’s getting plaudits too, winning
a
WAM Song of The Year & being a finalist in the highly
respected
International Song Writing Competition. His single “Lies” was one of the most played songs on Double J last year.

FORTE magazine called ISLAND “a wonderful return from Australia’s answer to Bruce Springsteen” and like the boss, live is where Carus does his thing the best.

His passionate and genuine pub-rock approach to performance, sets him apart from the majority of singer-songwriters. A Carus Thompson show will always be a journey through quiet ballads, to all out rockers, to

some dance-floor fillers, all delivered with his unpretentious, crowd- inclusive energy.

“This is quality Songwriting” – Jeff Jenkins, Living in the Land of OZ “A treasure in the Australian musical landscape” – The Dwarf
