Vocalist Rebecca Davey brings elements of her musical idols to her performance – the great female Blues vocalists of the 1920s and 30s. Artists such as Bessie Smith, Ma Rainey, Victoria Spivey, Mamie Smith and similar bold women of their time, have influenced Rebecca, both in her vocal delivery and performance. Emotion, drama, wit and cheeky sass are woven into Rebecca’s uniquely interpreted Blues music storytelling, conveying the underlying truths upon which the Blues are based, with the expressive impact of the Blues lyric: “Blues is about the truth. The joys, and sorrows of life, the challenges and excitement, love and sex - Blues addresses them all”. Together as a 4-piece band, Dreamboogie re-imagine and re- interpret the songs of those great trailblazing Blues performers for today’s audiences, using contemporary sounds and fresh arrangements, whilst retaining the essential spirit and attitude of the music. Old Blues with new ‘tude. vocals bass guitar drums In October 2011, Dreamboogie won the PBS106.7FM-sponsored MBAS Blues Performer of the Year Challenge, proudly representing the Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society as their 2012 entrant at the International Blues Challenge (IBC) in Memphis, USA. His passionate and genuine pub-rock approach to performance, sets him apart from the majority of singer-songwriters. A Carus Thompson show will always be a journey through quiet ballads, to all out rockers, to

some dance-floor fillers, all delivered with his unpretentious, crowd- inclusive energy.

Heath Robertson is a multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter who performs with a maturity well beyond his young years, and at a level to rival any seasoned performer.

With catchy guitar licks and solid beats inspired by a bygone era, his music fuses the blues with 70’s influenced surf-rock.

The QMF recently announced him the inaugural recipient of the Alison McKenzie Scholarship, further cementing what is bound be a promising career in the music industry. This followed on from winning the FReeZA Foot-In-The-Door competition in the Blues and Roots category at the 2016 Queenscliff Music Festival where he wowed the judges with his performance. In 2017, and at the tender age of 16, he released his debut EP Always Late And Never On Time, was support for Didirri, and also offered a spot at the 2017 QMF.

One year on, one year older, one more year of performances under his belt and further refining his craft...just come and see what Heath Robertson can do. With artists like this, the future of music is in good hands.
